Judgements

The man 1
The first judgement I made when I saw this picture was:
He spent all his money in alcohol or drugs.
Possibly homeless.
Dressed like a tramp.
Mid/ late 50's.
Can't afford clothing- patchwork on his trousers.
Could be begging on the streets.

This picture is actually of Douglas Bihlmaier, he is standing on one of the most expensive streets in NYC. Doug travels the world for Ralph Lauren. My judgment was wrong. This teaches people how not to judge a book by its over.

The Man 2.

The second judgement was:
Well educated.
Could possibly be a lecturer.
Appears to be smartly dressed- quite wealthy.
Part if the upper class.
Well dressed.

However, in this photo is Ted Bundy who was Americas notorious serial killer, he confessed to rape and murder of 30 innocent girls and women in the 1970s.

The woman
My final judgment was:
Fashionable.
Happy.
Old age pensioner.
Quite wealthy because of designer brands.
Doesn't seem to care what people think about her.

The picture is of Anna Piaggi. Anna is a famous fashion journalist who gets front seats at all the high end fashion events. She is loved by all designers who give her clothes from their brands. Her work has been in magazines such as the Italian version of vogue.

  1. Good work. Remember that a good analysis of representation is dependent on you looking carefully at the character and paying attention to every single detail.
